Who am I?

Who is Jon Abear?

I am first and foremost, a father and husband. I am retired Police Officer, having 15 years in Law Enforcement. I also have several years of experience in the private security field, working for companies such as, Midwest Patrol, Maddens Resort, Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and another high class resort in Durango, Co.

I have had training in CPR, DE-esclation techniques, professional driving and many other areas. I have worked in customer service, I have operated heavy equipment, snow plow machinery, and hand tools.

I started my Law Enforcement career as a 911 Dispatcher for Aitkin County Sheriffs Office and Crosby Police Dept. back in 1999. While working full time dispatching, I put myself through college at Central Lakes College, in Brainerd. I graduated in 2002, making the Deans List honor roll, and earning an A.A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice.

After Graduating College, I went on to work full time as a Police Officer for the City of Deerwood. In 2004, I was promoted to Sergeant, being the first ever Police Sergeant for the City of Deerwood. In 2007, I went on to be a full time Police Officer for the City of Crosby, where I retired in 2013. I also worked part time for the City of Emily and Deerwood during those years. While working in Crosby, I was awarded “Officer of the Year” in 2010. I also earned a life saving award and had numerous other accomplishments during my Law Enforcement career.

I currently live with my wife and daughter in Ironton, where I own and operate “Jon Abear Enterprises LLC”, which offers Private Investigative Services,snow plowing, and more. I am Licensed, Bonded, and Insured in the State of Minnesota as a Private Investigator.

I am a very approachable and friendly person who loves meeting new people and has a passion for doing whatever I can to help.
